Shea Moisture

“It Comes Naturally“ is a celebration of the rich legacy and continuous resilience of Black women as creators, nurturers, leaders and entrepreneurs. This was an exciting massive collaboration involving BUCK, SheaMoisture, and independent artists Monica Ahanonu, Rachelle Baker, Bisa Butler, Alexis Eke, Linda Mawala, and Reyna Noriega.

BUCK was tasked with animating all the beautiful illustrations via cel, 2D and 3D means, with early exploration involving machine-learning algorithms to map facial expressions to illustrations. I was honored in co-leading much of the 2D animation and compositing pipeline with Mercy Lomelin.

The result is an interweaving of empowering stories into a breathing tapestry befitting of the SheaMoisture brand.
